Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Sansa Android app ("the app"), made by CONG HUY CO., LTD ("we"). Sansa is a calm online temple where people sit together in silence.

No account, no tracking

Sansa has no sign-up and no login, and we never ask for your email or phone number. The app has no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking SDKs. We do not sell data to anyone, and nothing you do in the app is stored on our servers after you leave.

Sitting together (live presence)

When you enter a hall, the app connects to our realtime server so you can sit alongside other people who are in the same hall. To make this work, the app shares your little monk's position in the hall and simple gestures (such as sitting, greeting, bowing or striking the wooden percussion), so others can see gentle movement. The server gives your connection a random temporary number for that session only — it is not linked to your device or any account. This presence is live only: it exists while you are connected and is gone the moment you leave the hall. We do not store it.

Your optional temple profile

You can — but do not have to — fill in a small profile: a display name, your age, your gender, and your interests. Every field is optional; leave them blank and you simply keep a randomly assigned name. If you do fill any of them in, that information is shown to other people in the same hall when they tap your monk, so they can greet you. It is sent to our realtime server only to pass it on to others in your hall in real time — we do not store it; it is held in memory only while you are connected and is deleted the moment you leave or disconnect. A copy of what you typed is kept locally on your own phone so the app can offer it again next time.

What stays on your device

The app keeps a few things only in its own storage on your phone: a random identifier it generates to tell halls apart, your chosen language, your prayer-bead count, the reminder times you set, and the profile fields you typed (if any). This on-device copy is not sent to us. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it.

Permissions

The app asks only for what each feature needs: Notifications to show the reminder you set to come and sit; Vibration for the gentle haptic when you tell the beads or make a gesture; Foreground service / media playback to keep the chanting playing and show lock-screen controls while the screen is off; Internet and network state to connect you to a hall; keep-awake (wake lock) to keep the screen on while you sit; and run after restart to restore your reminders after the phone reboots. You can turn any permission off in Android Settings › Apps › Sansa › Permissions.

Third parties

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with any third-party company. Your live presence and any profile fields you type are relayed only to other people in the same hall, through our own server infrastructure (hosted on Cloudflare), and are not stored. Google Play, which delivers the app, handles your download under Google's own privacy policy.

Children

Sansa is not directed at children. We keep no permanent record of anyone, and anything you optionally type into your profile is deleted as soon as you leave a hall.

Your rights and deletion

Because we store nothing on our servers, there is no account or stored record for us to access, correct or delete. To remove what you typed, clear your profile fields in the app or leave the hall; to remove the local copy, uninstall the app or clear its storage. Questions: nguyenthienvinh247@gmail.com.
